• ✨ The Truth About Self-Care: It’s Not Selfish, It’s Survival ✨
By Stephanie Greco, Purple Lotus Revival

Let’s get one thing straight—self-care isn’t a luxury. It’s not a bubble bath with jazz music playing in the background (although hey, no judgment if that’s your thing). It’s a lifeline. A non-negotiable. And for many of us—especially those of us healing from trauma or carrying the weight of generations—it’s the thing we keep putting off while tending to everyone else’s needs.

I know this all too well.

I used to believe that taking time for myself meant I was lazy or self-indulgent. I thought I needed to earn rest or prove my worth by constantly giving. Sound familiar? But let me tell you—burnout isn’t a badge of honor. It’s a red flag waving wildly in front of your nervous system, begging you to slow down.

Healing taught me that I can’t show up for others—my family, my clients, my community—if I’m running on fumes. And neither can you.

Self-care is the radical, rebellious act of saying, “I matter, too.”
It’s tending to your inner world with the same devotion you give to everyone else.

And here’s the beautiful part: self-care isn’t always some big, time-consuming ritual. Sometimes it’s…

      🌿 Saying no without apologizing.
🌿 Drinking water and taking your vitamins.
🌿 Going outside and letting the sun hit your face.
🌿 Unfollowing someone who drains your energy.
🌿 Giving yourself permission to rest without guilt.

It’s checking in with your needs and actually honoring them.

If your body is screaming for stillness—listen.
If your soul is craving joy—give her some.
If your inner child needs nurturing—drop what you’re doing and love on her.

You don’t need permission to take care of you. But just in case you’ve been waiting for it—here it is: 💌

You are allowed to rest. You are allowed to take up space. You are allowed to prioritize yourself.

Because your well-being is not a luxury—it’s the foundation for everything else you want to build in this life.

So today, choose something small that says, “I’ve got you.”
Then do it again tomorrow. And the next day. Until it becomes your new normal.

      You are worthy of care.
      You are worthy of love.
      You are worthy—period.
