Our Inner Guest House Has Terrible Booking Control. đ đ
Our mind is a guest house. And every morning, some new emotional Airbnb guest may arrive.
Joy? Welcome.
Grief? Welcome.
Anger? Hmm⊠you again.
Anxiety? You didnât even book a room.
Fear? Apparently staying for the weekend.
And the lesson?Stop trying to throw your guests out.
Every emotion comes carrying a message.
So instead of: âGO AWAY! I DONâT WANT TO FEEL THIS!â
Try: âOkay⊠youâre here. What are you trying to show me?âThe main lessons:
🌿 1. Feelings are visitors.
They arrive. They stay for a while. They leave.
You don’t have to build your identity around them.🌿 2. Don’t judge the guest.
Anger isn’t âbad.â
Sadness isn’t âweak.â
Fear isn’t failure.
They’re information, not character defects.🌿 3. Make room.
Resistance often makes an emotion louder.
Allowing it to be felt can change the relationship you have with it.🌿 4. You don’t have to fix everything immediately.
Sometimes the most powerful thing you can do is sit with what is happening without reaching for the emergency emotional toolbox. 🧰😂🌿 5. Every guest can teach you something.
Even the uncomfortable ones.Especially the uncomfortable ones.
🌿 6. You are the house, not the guest.
This might be the big one.You are not your anxiety.
You are not your anger.
You are not your grief.
You are the awareness that can notice all of them. And perhaps the real practice is this:
Can I welcome what is here without letting it take over the whole house?
Because emotional freedom isn’t having a house where only âgood vibesâ are allowed.
It’s having a house spacious enough for the whole human experience.Come in.
Sit down.
Tell me what you came to teach me.And yes⊠you can leave your shoes by the door. 👣😂
