PAIN IS YOUR GPS. ðŸ§
We may not choose the pain, but we can change how we respond to it.
We always get hurt when learning/trying something new. Think about it.
We fell down countless times before we learned to walk. We struggled to ride a bicycle without looking like we were negotiating a peace treaty with gravity. 😂
And love? Well, that’s a whole other level of learning, with no instruction manual and some rather questionable practical exams! But somehow, we expect ourselves to get everything right on the first attempt.
We worry about school tests, job applications, sports challenges, difficult conversations, and human connections. We fear making mistakes, looking foolish, being rejected, or not being good enough.
And when things don’t go as planned, we often add a second layer of pain by judging ourselves, replaying what happened, and creating stories about what it means.Pain was never always a choice. But suffering often grows in the space between what happened and the story we tell ourselves about it.
Pain is part of being human. It can tell us that something needs attention, that a boundary has been crossed, that a strategy isn’t working, or that we still have something to learn.Think of pain as your personal GPS.
Sometimes it says: 📍 Wrong turn. Try another route.
Sometimes: 📍 Slow down. You’re going too fast.
And sometimes: 📍 Recalculating… this person, situation, job, place… is NOT your destination! 😂The problem isn’t always the pain itself. It’s what we do with it.
When we stop judging ourselves and others, when we stop turning every mistake into a personal tragedy, we create room to learn. We can look at what happened, understand what needs adjusting, and try again.
No need to turn a failed attempt into a story about our worth.
No need to make one rejection mean we’ll never be loved.
No need to let one mistake convince us we’re incapable.
A mistake is information. A difficult experience is feedback. Neither is a final verdict on who you are.Of course, not every painful experience has a lesson we can immediately understand, and not every wound disappears just because we change our perspective.
Some pain needs time, care, support, and healing.
But we don’t have to make the journey harder by punishing ourselves for being human. So, the next time life hurts, take a breath.
Ask yourself: What happened? What needs my attention? Is there anything I can adjust?
Then adjust what you can, give yourself grace for what you cannot, and keep moving.
Just remember to get up, dust yourself off, and check whether gravity has been taking its job a little too seriously. 😅Pain may be part of the journey.
Suffering doesn’t have to become your permanent travel companion.
💥Stop punishing yourself for being human.💕
