✨ Who Were You in a Past Life?
Probably a queen. Or a pirate. Or a monk who spent 40 years meditating under a tree.
But here’s the thing: we’ll never actually know. And maybe that’s the point.Humans love stories. 🎶
We’re wired for them. When we feel something deep like sadness, fear, déjà vu, or an unexplainable connection, we want a reason. A narrative. Something that justifies it.
“Oh, I must have been betrayed in a past life, that’s why I struggle with trust now.”
See? Story added. Ego satisfied. Mystery explained. But the soul doesn’t need stories. ☯️
The soul doesn’t care whether you were Cleopatra’s cousin or a fisherman in Greece. The soul just sees your energy now, how you move, love, learn, create, and raise your vibe in this moment.
Since childhood we’ve been attaching our lives to stories and narratives. 📖
And let’s be honest: most of them weren’t true.
Books, family tales, friends, movies, church sermons, school lessons… we absorbed them all and built beliefs and choices on top of them.
And yes, stories do help us make sense of ourselves. They’re fun, they connect the dots, they may grow compassion. But at the end of the day, they’re just costumes. The real magic isn’t in who you were or which story you borrowed.
It’s in who you’re choosing to become, with every single choice you make today.💥So if you need a narrative, make one up that empowers you.
Be the hero of your current chapter. Because the only “past life” that really matters is the one you’re living right now, a few seconds ago.💥➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖
🔍 Tools to Figure Out Who You Really Are
(Because awareness is the first step! If we don’t know who we are, how could we figure out who we want to be?)
✔️Journal Scan
What it does: surfaces patterns and themes over time.
Morning: intention, feeling, fear, action.Evening: what happened, what you learned, a repeating thought, one choice.
Do this for 7 days. Highlight the repeats. Boom 💥your patterns, exposed.✔️Story Surgery
What it does: shows when a story is serving you and when it is trapping you.
Write the story you tell about a recurring problem in one paragraph.
Then rewrite it two ways: a rescue story that blames you, and an empowering story that names growth.
Compare how each version makes you feel in the body.✔️Values Inventory
What it does: reveals the compass you actually follow.
Pick your top 5 values (freedom, play, naps count).
For each: one habit that proves it, one that betrays it. Instant compass check.✔️Somatic Check-in
What it does: connects you to present-moment data, not stories.
2 minutes of box breathing: inhale 4, hold 4, exhale 4, hold 4.
Then scan from head to toes and note where emotion lives.
Ask that spot a yes or no question and notice the first sensation. The body rarely lies.✔️Shadow Questions
What it does: uncovers the hidden parts that make stories feel true.
List your beliefs or just observe your actions and reactions during the day and observe the belief supporting them.
Ask: “What am I defending with this belief?” and “What do I gain by holding this identity?”
Write fast, no editing. Welcome to your shadow TED Talk.✔️Archetype Play
What it does: gives symbolic language to recurring impulses.
Pick archetypes like Caregiver, Rebel, Explorer, Magician. For a week, notice when each shows up.
Which archetype gets applause? Which gets punished? Archetypes are not destiny. They are lenses.✔️30-Day Experiment
What it does: tests identity by changing small actions.
Choose one small practice that feels opposite to your default story (for shy people: initiate one friendly message a week; for perfectionists: allow one messy creative session). See how identity shifts.✔️Feedback Loops
What it does: uses others as mirrors.
Ask three people: “What’s my gift? What’s my blind spot?”
If two say the same thing, it’s probably true.✔️Dream Work
What it does: surfaces unconscious material symbolically.
Keep a dream notebook. If you can’t remember dreams, write the last image you had before sleep. Over weeks, patterns appear.✔️Pro Help
What it does: gives safe space to explore deeper wounds.
Consider therapy, somatic coaching, or group shadow work. These are for working with heavy patterns that simple tools can’t shift alone.Because sometimes self-help is like cutting your own hair… possible, but risky.🙃
