• Chosen One- A Hard lesson in "Surrender"

I always believed that if you were a good person — if you wished good for others, kept a pure heart, and stayed positive — life would reward you. I thought the Universe worked in magical ways, opening doors, bringing opportunities, and aligning the right people when your intentions were good and your heart was true.

Well… I’ve come to realize that isn’t always the case.

If you are one of the “Chosen” — here to fulfill a specific purpose on Earth — things can actually feel much harder. When you can’t figure out what that purpose is, or don’t move with Divine timing, it can seem like nothing goes your way, no matter how kind or well-intentioned you are. It’s not about how “good” you are — it’s about what you’re here to do.

I’ve learned that I’m an old soul, here to be of service to others. But living that truth hasn’t been easy. I’ve found myself running around trying to help everyone, doing good deeds, staying afloat — only to feel the Universe say, “Not enough. We want it all.”

And I ask myself — does this mean I don’t matter? What about my needs, my feelings, my family, my home, my desire for stability? I know I’m capable. I can work. I can create. I have support from family and friends. Yet somehow, it’s as if the message is: “Sacrifice.” Sacrifice your comfort, your plans, your dreams — and surrender everything to divine service.

It feels like the story of Jonah, Jesus, or Mother Teresa.

I wasn’t raised in a religious or spiritual home — this awakening came late in my life. And now, I feel like I’m playing catch-up, trying to understand what “surrender” really means.

People say we have free will — and I believe that’s true for most. But when you are called for something higher, it feels like free will narrows. You can resist, but life will echo back — sometimes loudly. In my case, quite literally: clicks in my ears, knocks on my ceiling, strange disruptions that make me pay attention when I’m not listening to guidance.

I’ve applied for over forty jobs, and each time something strange happens — people get sick, the energy blocks, or the door closes. It’s as if the Universe is saying, “No, not that way.”

And so I return to one word: Surrender.

But how do you find balance in that? How do you serve others while still honoring yourself?

We hear messages like “Love yourself first,” “Fill your cup before helping others,” or “Put your own mask on first.” And those are powerful teachings. But for some of us — the ones truly called — that may not be the path.

If you ever find yourself “Chosen” in this lifetime or another, know this: it’s not easy. It’s not glamorous. It asks everything of you. But perhaps, in that full surrender, we discover a love and purpose far greater than anything we could have imagined on our own. I will let you know, I am still in the process. ❤️

        Hi dear Julianne.
A few decades ago, and during years and years, I went through something very similar to what you described.
That’s why I felt called to leave a few words here. Maybe they’ll give you something to reflect on.

I never called myself “chosen.” And maybe I’m not. And that’s perfectly fine.

What I’ve learned, though, is that we humans often crave labels.
We want to define ourselves, to make sense of what’s happening.
Consciously or not, we attract experiences and people that confirm what we already believe.
It’s our survival mode on its mission to make us feel safe.

Religions, societies, books, healers, coaches… so many voices claim to know the way.
Some convinced us our mission is to “serve others”. If we think about where this belief comes from we would be very much surprised. (I feel that connecting and supporting others, spiritually or materially, is a source of happiness that comes in a very natural way when we vibe on high frequencies. That’s not a mission. That’s part of an abundant, happy and grateful life)

In the end, each of us walks a path that’s entirely our own.
So all beliefs, insights and tools are valid, but we need to find out what serves to our unique purpose and do the work ourselves.

When it comes to spiritual awareness, the purpose is simple: to survive and to grow.
And why grow? Because change is constant. Since we have to change anyway, why not choose to become better versions of ourselves, living fuller, brighter lives along the way?
That growth, when aligned to the Universe frequency, leads us to peace, health, happiness, love, and abundance.
From that place, we naturally radiate energy that uplifts others, supports nature, and raises the frequency of everything around us.

I truly believe everything begins within. We can’t give what we don’t have.
        – We can’t love others if we don’t understand what love really is. And that understanding only comes when we learn to love ourselves unconditionally.
        – We can’t offer peace or comfort while fighting our own inner battles. To connect with kindness, compassion, no judgment and genuine support, we first need to learn to do that with ourselves. Then we give to others without expectations or attachments.
        – We can’t truly help others if we’re in need ourselves. We might try, but it often drains us and brings results far from what we intended.

Simply put: if someone knocks on your door asking for food, how can you feed them if your own cupboards are empty?

Maybe the true “chosen” path is the one we uncover ourselves by living, learning, and evolving in our own way.
We are not followers. We are not bound by anyone. We are creators.

So let’s create a beautiful reality for ourselves first, and then for everyone and everything around us.
Sending you so much love ❤️

        • @Katia Thank you so much for sharing. I agree wholeheartedly. That will be my next post, stepping into our own sovereignty here on earth Ha! I am truly grateful for your reply, it really helps having others who have experienced this “pressure.” I don’t see myself as more special than anyone else here, so the word “Chosen” means chosen for what my soul needs to overcome. Looking forward to meeting you in fun events here on this platform. Thank you!❤️
