Adoption was where my story began — but self-love is where it bloomed.
Today, November 9, is National Adoption Day.
I was adopted at just five days old. Those early days left imprints I couldn’t yet understand — memories woven into my body and subconscious that shaped how I sought safety, love, and belonging.
For much of my life, I searched outward, believing love had to be earned or proven. But through years of energy healing, deep self-reflection, and turning inward, I discovered the truth — what I was searching for had never been missing. It was always within me.
Adoption became my greatest teacher.
It showed me that I have the ability to love myself, to be there for myself, and to nurture the seeds of my own unconditional love.
And in those seeds — in being unapologetically me — unconditional love for others naturally blooms.As Brené Brown says, “We can only love others as much as we love ourselves.”
From that space of self-acceptance and inner peace, there are no boundaries to what’s possible — within us, between us, and through us.If something in these words stirs your heart — a whisper, a resonance, a remembering — perhaps it’s your time, too, to return home to you.
