Love finds a way
When the world first shut down, my heart ached for the ordinary sacred—family hugs, shared meals, kids’ laughter echoing through the house. One afternoon I walked out to the paddock and there they were: my three grandkids at the fence, holding up handmade cards like little lanterns. We waved, blew kisses through the air, and let the horses witness our joy.
We couldn’t be together like we were used to, but love found a way—over rails, across distance, straight into my chest. That day taught me what the Herd reminds me often: connection is creative, and hope is contagious. We can always choose to see the opportunity inside the difficulty.
To my sweet grands: your courage and kindness were my sunshine in a strange season. I’m still carrying those cards in my heart.
