Where does our suffering come from?
Most of our suffering is not born from what happens.
It’s born from the silent contracts we sign with reality.
We expect people to understand us without explanation.
We expect life to follow the timeline we imagined.
We expect love to behave, effort to be rewarded, healing to be linear.
Expectation turns possibility into demand.
And when the world does not comply, the mind tightens its grip and calls it pain.
Reality is neutral.
Expectation adds the sharp edges.
This does not mean we should stop dreaming or intending.
It means holding our visions with open hands, not clenched fists.
When expectation softens into presence,
what remains is clarity, adaptability, and peace that doesn’t depend on outcomes.
Less expectation.
More curiosity.
Suffering loses much of its fuel when we stop asking life to be what it never promised to be. 🌱
