      What is the real problem???

      Watch the video.

Then give yourself a few quiet minutes to reflect on it.

Our minds are incredibly creative when it comes to explaining what we feel.
But the stories they tell are not always the truth, and they don’t always reveal where the real issue lies.

      Awareness is where everything begins.

      Always.

      • Thank you for posting this, Katia!🙏

I’m curious about the difference of presence and awareness, and what your thoughts are regarding this?

Both are grounding, and are crucial to walking this spiritual path (at least to me), but how would you describe the difference, in your life, Katia?

        • @Tori Hey beautiful soul sister. 🤍
Maybe it’s simpler to make myself clear with an example… 🤓Someone criticizes you.

▶Awareness 💡 The light has turned on.

Your first reaction is anger and defensiveness. Then something shifts.

You notice: “My chest feels tight.” “I’m taking this very personally.” “This reminds me of not feeling good enough.”

Instead of automatically blaming the other person or yourself, you recognize what’s happening inside. You became aware! You see the real issue.

Presence 🌿 Staying with reality as it unfolds. Stay in the NOW. Fell it, one now at a time…

Rather than immediately defending yourself, shutting down, or replaying the conversation in your head for the next three days, you stay with your experience.

You allow yourself to feel the discomfort without trying to fix it or escape it.

You become curious. “What is this feeling trying to show me?” “Can I let this emotion be here without becoming it?”

▶Grounding 🌳This is what helps your nervous system feel safe enough to remain present.

          You might:

Take five slow diaphragmatic breaths or practice coherent breathing.

Feel both feet firmly on the floor.

Notice five things you can see, four you can touch, three you can hear, two you can smell, and one you can taste (5-4-3-2-1 technique).

Place one hand on your heart and one on your belly.

Take a mindful walk in nature. Do Yoga or similar practices.

          Practice a body scan.

          Use Breathwork or meditation practice.

Gently lengthen your exhale to activate the parasympathetic nervous system.

Grounding practices don’t make the emotion disappear.

They help your body remember: “I’m safe enough to stay here.”

          🔱

Without grounding, awareness can become overthinking.

Without presence, awareness becomes just another interesting insight.

Grounding gives your body the stability to remain present, and presence allows awareness to become transformation.

I like to summarize it this way:

Awareness says, “I see what’s happening.”

Presence says, “I’m willing to stay with what is here and now. I choose this moment, not the past or the future.”

Grounding says, “I breathe, I anchor, and I remember that I am safe.”

          I hope this helps.

          Much love 💕

          • @Katia Wow!! Yes, this helps, Katia!! Thank you!!🙏
The subject of presence is of particular importance and interest to me at this point in my spiritual journey. Recently, I’ve been learning that presence can be a powerful way of grounding in and of itself; whether it be during/following deep meditation and energy healing or during daily interactions with the people in my life outside the spiritual community.

Katia, can you begin to imagine the shift in our world if everyone cultivated a sense of awareness and/or chose to embrace presence and compassion over chaos, reactions and fear??

Fear of the future and ruminating over the past doesn’t control our lives when we learn to live in presence, and it brings with it such tremendous peace and equanimity!!☮️✨

I appreciate what you said about awareness turning into overthinking without presence, and will remember that!🌟
Thank you for sharing your wisdom with us, Katia, and for helping me to better understand the difference between these two “building blocks” in my own spiritual life!

            Namaste, my beloved soul sister.♥️
