It’s not where you think.

You look at someone and think:

“OMG, YOU make me feel so much love!” 🥹
And then one day they annoy the hell out of you. 😂
So… did they take the love with them?
Nope.
Because they never put the love there in the first place.

You did.

Love is an experience happening inside you.
That person, pet, place, song, sunset, or ridiculously overpriced coffee ☕️ simply gives you access to a version of yourself that can feel it.
The tender you.
The playful you.
The grateful you.
The “I could hug the whole planet” you.

And here’s the part that can mess with your head:

You can miss someone without losing the love you felt with them.
Because you’re not missing the source of your love.
You’re missing the version of YOU that you experienced through them. ⏪Read that again.

Maybe the people we love aren’t here to complete us.
Maybe they’re here to introduce us to parts of ourselves we hadn’t met yet.
And once you meet those parts…
